The Druids Nephew set to stand first in Novices’ Hurdle
On the card of the Evan And Megan Brace Memorial Novices’ Hurdle, The Druids Nephew looks to be the strongest candidate who can easily notch up top spot in the Class 4 contest over a distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs.
The high-stakes race is scheduled to be held at Chepstow racecourse on Friday, April 27. The action will commence at 4:40 (GMT).
For the prize cheque of £2,014, the Andy Turnell-trained bay gelding will daringly compete against half a dozen rivals such as Sydney Paget, Castleboy Warrior, Count Vettori, Noble Perk, Percy Lewis and Tiber River.
Since the very beginning of his career, the talented young horse has been enjoying great winning momentum. After finishing second in his maiden race on May 15, 2011, he stood first in the very next outing on May 22.
The five-year-old brilliant gelding elegantly grabbed 3rd position in his third race on December 16. His second triumph came on January 14, 2012. He finished 6th against 19 opponents in his last start on March 16.
If The Druids Nephew manages to run to his best and makes no mistake on the track, his chances to finish first in the race will be as high as 95 percent.
However, Sydney Paget can trigger an upset as the Donald McCain-trained gelding possesses an epic track record. The novice horse bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs in November 2011. After getting a runner-up position on December 30, he elegantly finished
first in his second last outing on February 6, 2012.
Noble Perk is also likely o do well in the race. Adrian Wintle’s gelding finished 3rd each in the last two races of his career during March-April 2012. Prior to this, he had earned a runner-up rank on December 27, 2011. He will strive to break
his maiden today.
It is anticipated that there will be a tough tug of war between The Druids Nephew and Sydney Paget. Let us see who walks away with the ace title. The race will be fairly thrilling. Good luck to all the contestants.
