The EagleBank Foundation raises $ 266,000 for a noble cause
The annual EagleBank Foundation Fight Breast Cancer Golf Classic was played on the 11th of October and was held at the Woodmont Country Club. The event is sixth in nature and was held for helping the hospitals and organizations situated locally.
The event was backed up by the EagleBank Foundation that plays a major role in the most of the business services and carries out services through its 12 offices situated in various places like the Montgomery County, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Northern
Virginia.
The company has backed up the same event 6th time consecutively in hopes of supporting all those institutions that are fighting against breast cancer.
The first tournament was held in the year 2005 and since its inception the organization has been able to collect a total dollar amount of over $915,000. The raised money has helped the local organizations a great deal and has enabled institutions like the
local hospitals and various other cancer related organizations to carry out the necessary research thus aiming at providing the support services.
The event held at the Woodmont Country Club was able to gather a total sum of $ 266,000 which will be further transferred to the previously mentioned institutions so that they can continue with their research and support that they aim to provide to the affectees.
The money will thus be used to reach out to the organizations like the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Suburban Hospital in Montgomery County, MD, and The George Washington University Cancer Institute, The Providence Hospital and Washington Hospital Center
in Washington, DC.
Other than the previously mentioned hospitals, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, The Primary Care Coalition of Montgomery County and The Wellness Community are also included in the recipients.
According to Donald R. Rogers, this is something that has made everyone extremely proud and happy. He said that their goal is to help those who are giving it all they have to fight against cancer. The funded money is directly enabling the front line organizations
to go ahead with their ventures. Rogers is the director of EagleBank and is also the Chairman of the EagleBank Foundation.
“We are extremely proud of the fact that we have been to help these hospitals,” Rogers said.
According to latest reports, the funds were generated due to the extremely generous role of the golfers, sponsors, contributors and volunteers that contributed greatly to raise an amount that was much needed. The director said that these hospitals and organization
deserved the help and the contributors have been ever so munificent in enabling the annual EagleBank Foundation Fight Breast Cancer Golf Classic to collect a hefty amount of $ 266,000.
Rumours say that the people have been so eager to participate in the noble cause that the event in a way 'over sold' the tickets even at a time when the world is undergoing tough economic stipulations.
