Depends what subject I'm being asked in.

If it's a life sciences class, I guess I would go with false, because the biosphere is not exclusively composed of living components.  Ecosystems are the living and nonliving things in an area, and the biosphere is the sum of these ecosystems.

However, in a less specific course, I'd go with true.  The biosphere is probably shorthand for "the living environment" or some such to, say, geologists and earth scientists who study the layers of the earth.

the bio sphere is the place ,

we ,the plants, the animals ,insects ,soil rocks rivers ,waterfalls etc are the componants ,that make up the individual eco systems within this total bio sphere.

the word bio sphere is also used for an artificial environment which tries to have AS MANY COMPONANTS AS  POSIBLE TO MAKE UP AN ECO SYSTEM,like a huge tunnel with a controlled environment

I made a cage in the garden(5 meters by 11 and 2.5 high  ,that has a few cement pools a waterfall ,fish, iguanas ,5 babycrocodiles ,some turtles ,and a great variety of plants ,we call this our Bio-Spacio(in Spanish)

although it is not complete because we have to bring food in for the animals ,but we liked the name
