The Earth spins at 10,000 miles an hour..........?

And for those of us that have experienced seeing ghosts, it seems like when they walk across a room it's faster than what a human can run.

Do you think maybe their time has sped up, creating the affect of them repeating movements, even though it may be in real time to them?

And they appear to us for only a few seconds in our time?

I'm basing this theory in refrence to when you're outside on a starry night, watching the skies as our satelites appear to zip by quickly.

Even though the satelites are stationary, the world under us is spinning.

  1. I'll leave this question for another, but I want to address one point.

Satellites are not stationary.  By definition, a satellite is an object that orbits around a central object.  So, they are always moving.

There is a special type of satellite known as a geosynchronous / geostationary satellite.  These orbit the Earth once every 24 hours, so they always appear to be over the same location on the surface of the Earth.  However, these kinds of satellites are very far away and hence, travel very quickly.

  2. Ghosts do not exist!!!!!

    Get real please!

  3. This is the reason the word "theory" loses credibility.

  4. The Bible gives a hint that God's time is different than earth time.  It 's been said that "a thousand years is but a wink of God's eye."

  5. i always thought about that.

i think it's because the vibrational level where they are is much faster.

  6. The earth rotates at about 1000 mph, the earth travels about 64,000  miles a day, on average, along it's path around the sun, and satellites orbit the earth at about 17,500 mph.

But anyway, that may be the reason why they seem to slip a crossed our little bit of time and space so fast.

If we try to apply the laws of of physics to ghosts we run into some problems, like how would the relativity theory effect something with now mass, gravity,or any other measurable force that we know of.  On the other hand some people think that the new physics of quantum  theory's, string theory's, and chaos theory's predict things like ghosts or at least they don't dispel them.

Its been more then 35 years ago that I took any physics and that was more geared toward astronomy then physics theory.  So I may not be up to date on what the latest theory's are.

I am sure that if they exist in an other dimension then our rules may not work there.  I believe that the crossing of dimensions maybe the best explanation for ghosts and most paranormal things.  Your guess is as good as anyones, we just don't know what is going on.  Why do I see ghosts and others don't?  Do I have some ability to slip a little into other places in time and space? The best we can do is to just keep investigating the paranormal and trying new things, new theory's, new gadgets  and  come up with new ways to test our theory's, until someone comes up with the answer.

I know that I have got some great ideas here on YA and then try to test them out on my investigations.

  7. Hedd, your idea has lost me, I'm afraid. I don't get the connection you're trying to draw from orbiting satellites and supposedly non-orbiting ghosts.

Anyhow, here's an alternate explanation -- ghosts may appear to move quickly to an observer since the ghost is a visual anomaly or illusion. When the observer turns his/her head to look at whatever they think they are seeing, the illusion moves in accordance with the turn of the head, giving the impression that the "ghost" is speedy enough to just stay outside of direct vision.
