The Premier League – they say it’s the best league in the world. With top quality players, clubs and managers. The level of competition, the pace, the drama, the physical aspect of the game; it has everything that makes football the beautiful sport it is.
But what makes it so alluring and so exciting? Why are all the top names in football today linked with moves to England’s top flight? Why is that the top football brands in the world are mostly English clubs? This season alone can answer this question, as
it has been the most exciting start to a campaign that I have ever witnessed.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and most recently Manchester City have all become household names. These clubs have been around for quite a while now, and known throughout the globe because of their rich tradition, history and achievements.
Wait a second. Chelsea and Manchester City and history don’t exactly go hand in hand. Don’t get me wrong, they’re both great clubs in their own right, and have been successful recently, with the Citizens winning the English Premier League and Chelsea winning
the Champions League.
But it’s how they managed to win these prestigious trophies that bring many to question them. Except for their fans of course, who will never waste a moment to remind you of their club’s recent achievements, and might even go as far as to make a case for
their glorious history and tradition.
Chelsea might not have been the giants they are today had it not been for the money and funding from owner Roman Abramovich. The same can be said about Manchester City, who most recently benefitted from the riches of their wealthy Arab owner Sheikh Mansour.
But I digress. The point of this article was to have a look at how the season has turned out so far, even though it’s been only 7 games, and there is a long way to go till we see a new club being crowned as champions.
This season has turned out to be quite a spectacle so far. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, spending millions of money like they usually do, have assembled quite a formidable squad, capable of playing attractive football which the West London club have not exactly managed to do
so in recent seasons.
The reigning champions, experiencing a quiet start to their campaign, have also eventually managed to find their feet as they look to close the gap on league leaders Chelsea. (To find out the odds on how long http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 lasts as City manager, please

Manchester United, being the most loved and respected club from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 (please note the sarcasm), have also managed to gather results and stay in the top 4, though in unconvincing fashion. No one will ever point that out by the way, because they’re Manchester
United, and they do what they want.
Arsenal made an uncharacteristically strong start to their season, putting in solid defensive performances and keeping three clean sheets in their first three games. The North London club however reverted back to its careless and defensively sloppy ways
when it played Chelsea at home, conceding two goals that have now kind of become the club’s signature. They did however manage to bounce back, but who knows how long before they choke and make the kind of mistake only http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are capable of making.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, having become a shadow of their former selves are not even in the top half of the league, as they struggle to find their form. They say Anfield used to be the most difficult stadium to play in. Well it seems it still is, as Liverpool have won
as many games there this year as Arsenal has and have not managed a home win this season.
Then there are the outsiders, the ones who almost made it on occasions. The likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and surprisingly http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 and West Brom have also managed to impress in recent seasons and have gathered up quite a following. If it
weren’t for these clubs, the Premier League would not have been the powerhouse that it is today.
