The Fillmore, San Francisco?

For anyone who has gone to a show at the Fillmore: do they charge for the coat check? And will you still be able to see the stage well from the balcony? And is the balcony available for anyone to go up to? Last but not least, would you still be able to see the stage even if you are at the very back? I don't really want to go into a crowd full of fangirls pushing and shoving. Thank you :D

  1. Yikes, I thought the Fillmore closed a long time ago.

  2. Last time I went they had no coat check.  This may be different for other concerts.

It's all general admission, everyone stands up on the floor, and if you're in the back you can see the stage but yes, there will be lots of pushing and shoving.

  3. No they don't. Bring money, merch is at most 30$ while the food in the Venue is expensive! I'm going as well, see you there! In the back you can see, the stage is on higher ground, you can go on the balcony area and see them as well. I'll be going around 12 hours before doors open.

When your in line, if you dont wanna lose your spot, have someone save your spot while you go to the cafe and get food for your group, you'll get hungry and if you have to pee, you will lose your spot so pushing and shoving is necessary. If you're going late, you're lucky if you're model tall, you can shove and push to the front, but slowly like they don't know you are trying to push them out of the way, because it would be rude to just push them, so yeah, slowly inch yourself in and you'll be in the front in no time.

  4. I was there couple years ago for Peaches.

It's a big square room with a stage on one side, the back of the room when you enter. Along one side is the tiny bar, with (if I remember correctly) a tiny balcony over it, like cafe seating for food. The music-lovers are penned up, standing. The stage, I believe, about neck level for most, since I remember people reaching out to touch the band.

We got there about an hour early to get spaces in front of the stage. People sat sprawled on the floor until it gat too crowded.

No coat check, I had to carry everything. There were a few peopele with backpacks. You have to have all your possessions on your person at all times.

The room is not that big, it's a popular venue, gets really crowded and unbelievably hot. I don't like crowds in the first place, so I left early.

If you don't already have tickets, go to Slim's instead. Great rock music, better spacing, cleaner ladies' restrooms (1 ground level, one downstairs), and a coatcheck as well. Unless you like being squeezed into a tight space with hundreds of hyper (albeit really cool and friendly) people. I've been to Slim's several times, and the crowd's much more mellow, swaying but not a lot of dancing, which is annoying to me because I can't sit or stand still for long periods of time, especially with alcohol and good music around.

Coatcheck always costs, usually about $2 per item.
