The Foresters express delight to have Heather Noll as head coach – Volleyball update
After leading her team to an outstanding 15-14 record in the season, the head coach of Lake Forest College volleyball squad waved a bye to the team.
The mentor of Foresters, Jennifer Saylor, resigned following the successful ending of 2011 season, which created the opportunity for Heather Noll to take up the role of head coach at Lake Forest College, Illinois. Saylor coached at Lake Forest College for
four seasons and helped the team to achieve great results. However, the Foresters received a perfect replacement in the form of Noll.
The Director of Athletics at Lake Forest, Jackie Slaats, expressed delight to have Noll as the new head coach. He said, “I am pleased to have Coach Noll join our staff. She has a nice mix of energy, passion for the sport of volleyball, and experience coaching
and playing at various levels. She has also shown the ability to lead student-athletes off the court, which is important to the overall student-athlete experience at Lake Forest College.”
Noll comes with a wealth of experience. Most recently, she was part of the Buena Vista University volleyball program and held the head coach’s position for four seasons. Likewise, she remained attached with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (the Warhawks)
for two seasons.
Moreover, Noll gained a lot of experience via numerous volleyball camps and clinics. On top of it, she was a student athlete in her academic years and played volleyball at different positions. During her collegiate career at Indian Hills Community College
and Coe College, she served as team captain and settled for IIAC All-Academic Team honour and also for the position of Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Now that Noll has accepted the position of head coach at Lake Forest College, the Foresters will benefit from her experience and knowledge of the game. She has many different traits, which help her stand apart from the other coaches. For instance, she was
not only a coach at Buena Vista University but also served as an instructor at the campus. Additionally, she performed her duties as the adviser of the BVU Student Athlete Advisory Committee. It was mainly because of her mix bag of qualities that Beavers’
volleyball program groomed quite effectively. They got hold of six All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honours and earned 21 IIAC All-Academic Team entries under the command of Noll.
According to the plan, Noll will properly relocate to Lake Forest in mid-January but she has already started recruiting for the team. The Foresters have plans to further improve and touch the heights of fame in 2012 season with Noll’s help. The Director
of Athletics at the Lake Forest College, Mr. Slaats, has high hopes that new coach will enable the team to claim the conference title and to reserve a berth at the NCAA Tournament in the near future.
