The Fox Tully to take down Jeremy’s Girl in the Follow Naas Racecourse On Facebook Apprentice Handicap
The two in contention for the Follow Naas Racecourse On Facebook Apprentice Handicap are the Irish bay gelding, The Fox Tully and the three-year-old bay filly, Jeremy’s Girl. The race will be held at Naas over a mile and two furlongs on Wednesday, 11th
July. Competing for the €6,900 prize money are eight three-year and above runners.
Of the two most credible and likely to win entries, one has been successful lately while the former has enjoyed victory over the same distance and the heavy ground conditions before.
Monashee Mountain’s bay gelding has been active five times during the season with two second scores, two wins and a dent of a fourth position through the most recent outing.
The seven-year-old kick started the season with the Jossestown Handicap on 31st May, 2012 at Clonmel over a mile and two furlongs.
Florry Knox dodged the field of fifteen by 3 ¼ lengths, and had The Fox Tully finishing the closest with jockey, Colin Keane onboard.
The Then Came Bronson foaled qualified as the runner-up in the Ratoath Handicap Division I on 6th June, 2012 at Fairyhouse over a mile and two furlongs. This time the Gerard Keane trained did not miss the race by a significant margin but, a mere
head’s difference.
Morethanfeeling won the race with Marc Monaghan riding.
Done with the pair of second scores, The Fox Tully moved on to adding two success stories on his profile.
The seven-year-old bay gelding dominated the Raoath Handicap (Division II) on 13th June, 2012 at Fairyhouse over a mile and two furlongs. Even though he was fourth in line when entering the final furlong, he grinded on the distance and left the
trio struggling for the wire at 1 ½ lengths margin.
Half the credit of the seasonal success went to the rider, Colin Keane.
On 19th June he monopolised the Sligo Champion Handicap at Sligo over a mile and two furlongs.
The Irish bay gelding became prominent only when there were last five furlongs to close in on. He took the lead of the final furlong, and was remarkable when dealing with the threatening pressure during the decisive strides of the race.
He will make an entrance from the eighth stall in the capable hands of jockey, Colin Keane.
