A farmer needs to get a fox, a chicken, and a bag of corn safely across the river in a canoe. The canoe can only hold him and one other item. The farmer cannot leave the fox alone with the chicken , or the fox will eat the chicken. Likewise, The farmer cant leave the chicken alone with the corn, or the chicken will eat the corn. Your Task is to get the farmer, the fox , the chicken and the bag of corn across the river without anything being eaten. How can you do this?

  1. Take the chicken first, then the corn, then the fox.


  2. take the chicken over, go back, take the wolf, take back the chicken, take the corn over, go back, take the chicken. YAY!!!

  3. 1.  Take the Chicken across, the fox won't eat the corn.

    2.  Go back.  Get the fox, take the fox across.

    3.  When you get to the side with the chicken, take the chicken BACK to the original side.

    4.  When you are back to the original side, take the corn, leave the chicken.

    5.  With the fox and corn on the far bank, return to the first side and get the chicken.

    Now you are all across and everyone is fine!
