The Fugue favourite to win Musidora Stakes
The Fugue poses to be the hot favourite runner for the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) contest that is going to take place at York racecourse today, May 16. The action is scheduled to start at 2:30 (GMT).
On the good course of 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 88 yards, the John Gosden-trained brown filly will face five worthy rivals such as Aniseed, Esentepe, Good Morning Star, Salford Art and Twirl. A prize cheque worth £36,862 is waiting for the supposed winner.
The Fugue started her career with a marvellous victory on October 29, 2011. The three-year-old novice runner moved ahead to finish 4th against 16 contestants in her second and last start on My 6, 2012.
These two outstanding performances have beautifully placed the brilliant sprinter at the top of the betting card for today’s Stakes.
The talented daughter of Dansili out of Twyla Tharp is packed with winning momentum at the moment. Moreover, the favourite tag is an additional advantage for her. Thus, the stage is quite set for the filly’s success. Let us see how better she manages to
use the situation in her favour.
Among the other runners, Esentepe and Good Morning Star are likely to perform well today.
Esentepe has won 2 of her total a dozen of starts so far. The Richard Hannon-trained bay filly finished first in her second last race on April 18, 2012. Prior to this, the veteran runner had finished 3rd in a race on April 7. She looks to be strong
enough on the card.
On the other hand, Good Morning nicely finished first in her last outing on May 9, 2012. Earlier, the Mark Johnston-trained bay and brown filly achieved a classic victory on January 18. Overall, she has two magnificent conquests to her name.
Thus, there will be a tough tug of war in the Stakes. The hot favourite runner will have to pass through many gruelling challenges in her way towards the finish line. The race will have many twists and turns. Let us enjoy the gala action. Good luck to all
the runners.
