The Fugue likely to dominate Ribblesdale Stakes
The Fugue is expected to walk away with a comfortable victory in the Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies) at Ascot in England on Thursday, June 21, 2012. The winner of the class-1 event will bag a cash prize of £77,092.
The going will be good to soft in the 1 mile 4 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 15:05 GMT. A total of 14 runners will be seen in action and their names are as follows: The Fugue, Shirocco Star, Vow, Princess Highway, Kailani, Momentary, Pink
Damsel, Hazel Lavery, Twirl, Colima, Dinvar Diva, Inchina, Salford Art and Chella Thriller.
Looking at the longer distance to cover in the race, it appears that the best chances of victory are with The Fugue. She has got a very good stamina and will definitely enjoy the track conditions at Ascot. She is carrying a decent momentum, which will encourage
the punters to place a lot of bets in her favour.
The three-year-old filly has participated in four races, winning a couple of them. In addition to that, she finished third once, which means that there was only one occasion, where she failed to make it to the top three.
The John Gosden’s trainee disappointed her fans in her most recent run, as she finished third, despite being given the best odds for victory. She gave a tough time to her rivals, but was unable to finish on top of the table.
However, things will be different in today’s race, as most of The Fugue’s opponents are relatively inexperienced at this level. This means she has a solid chance of bringing up the third victory of her career.
The favourite filly will be ridden by seasoned jockey, William Buick, who has won quite a few races at this level and will be looking forward to another solid run at Ascot.
On the other hand, Vow will also be the one to watch out for in the race, as she has got an impressive record. She has participated in three events, winning a couple of them.
However, the three-year-old filly was unable to deliver a solid run in her most recent outing, finishing fourth in it.
