Why are people constantly asking yahoo answers questions that need to be asked doctors? This is the internet I could be a child rapist for all you know. The advice here is not a substitute for a that of a medical professional's. So that brings me to the question, Do we not trust doctors anymore? Or Do many of us just feel uncomfortable with them?

  1. I am extremely uncomfortable with doctors. The thought of going to the doctor, especially for anything particularly embarassing or having to do with personal areas of my body makes me dread it for days and days. I purposely avoid the doctor as much as  possible.

  2. I find that when i go to the dr i forget most of what i wanted to say, especially as you get about 5 minutes with them. I should probably make a list lol.

  3. I think that most of the people on here are not genuine cases, that is they are "depressed" but they are not seriously "depressed" enough to go to the doctor and be referred to a psychiatrist for clinical "depression".

  4. It never hurts to ask questions.

  5. We ask questions here because the people that answer them often have diagnoses and can relate to peoples problems. also, whos goign to find a doctor a 3 in the morning? people made yahoo answers for a reason. same thing as, why are you asking me how to fix yoru car? why dont you ask a mechanic? or why are you asking me how what this math problem is, why dont u go to a university and ask a mathemetician? its because we all come together here to help poeple.

I know how you feel buddy. if you look at my recent questions i vented out all the frustration of those stupid questions

  6. well if you ask me why i ask questions here its because i wanna know more about whether my condition is something really mentally whatever. and i wanna ask people opinions too. that's it.

  7. We just want friendly reassurance.  That is what Yahoo Answers is.  We trust doctors, but sometimes we don't know if we need a doctor.   I used to work in a pharmacy in 1978 while I was in high school.  This woman brought in a prescription for her baby from the doctor's office next door.  She never read the prescription.  She paid $50 back then to see the doctor.  She yelled and scream when she saw the prescription bottle.  It was baby Tylenol.  She paid $50 for baby Tylenol.  People have had it with that BS.

It isn't that we don't trust our doctors, we are the information society that wants to make an informed choice, not just blindly go to the doctor expecting true medical help and ending up with a tylenol bottle.
