The Georgia Bulldogs should not be #1 in the nation. can Mark Richt keep control of his players ?

I don't know about controlling the players off the field, but no team with a schedule as brutal as Georgia's should ever be ranked #1 in the pre-season IMO.

I don't want to see another 2-loss team playing for a national championship again.  I don't want to see a team ranked #1 or #2 in week 6 lose a game to an unranked opponent and only drop 3 spots in the polls (where other teams would drop 7-10 spots) because everyone said they were good before they ever played anyone.  

Ranking a team like Georgia #1 before they play a down gives them excuses to lose a couple of games and still play for a national championship at the end of the year.

Georgia should be ranked number 1 in the preseason poll. Hopefully Mark Richt can keep control of his players because they have a good chance on winning the Title.

Uhm...yes and no.  Georgia should be #1 (if there is such a thing in a preseason) and Mark Richt can't keep control of his players.  Richt is a branch off of the Florida State tree.  He never learned how to lay down the law or that you can win with high character players.

The fact is they are... & they deserve to be. They played their tails off last year. I believe the real question is if you can keep control of your mouth. ;)
