The Gift of a Baby???

Okay so I red this article on people Magazine today and im in Shock!!!!!! here is the article:

Rachel had cancer, which made her unable to bear a child, but her sister decided to carried for her so she did. But just before 4 month before delivered, against all odds, rachel's sister became pregnant!!!! wut??? So they said both babies are fine!! and the only one that was only 4 months old survive!!!!!! they said " This prove that anything is possible" SO my question is..Has anybody else read this article?? where?? I want to read the whole story. I dont think that people magazine is going to make this thing up. I did find an article online which it sound pretty real and amazing!!

The sister who had cancer(Rachel) got preg after her sister (Deb)was 4 months along( carrying Rachel's baby). So Deb gave birth to Rachel's baby and then Rachel gave birth to the one she got preg with. So she ended up in the end with a 5 m old and new born lol. On the oldest child's first birthday Rachel and her husband gave Deb and here husband a trip for giving them their oldest child. Her sister Deb came back and found out she was preg this time with her own. Rachel said this is her sister's gift and blessing from helping them have a child. wow this story made me cry its so cute.

Rachel's sister was a surrogate for Rachel. Against all odds, *Rachel* got pregnant 5 months after her sister did. Her sister did NOT get pregnant twice only 5 months apart. You read the article wrong.

is this the story you read? in this it says Rachel ( cancer patient) got pregnant when she thought she couldn't while her sister was being a surrogate with her other child that the cancer patient beat the odds and became pregnant herself.. not the pregnant sister carrying 2 different pregnancies

It is possible for a woman to conceive 2 fetuses at different times, but I don't think that 5 months apart is possible.  This is called superfretation and can only occur when a woman has 2 uteri or continues menstrual cycles through pregnancy.  The cases I have heard of the babies were conceived a few weeks apart.

Unless a woman has two uteruses, she can't become pregnant when she's ALREADY pregnant.  I'd suggest going back to read the story again.

It is called superfecundation and is usually seen in animals but it's not unheard of in humans. It's when a woman continues to ovulate after she becomes pregnant. It usually happens in the same month so there is just 2 or 3 weeks between the babies ages but can happen well into a pregnancy.
