The Gillette Four Nations 2011 extends ticket sale after increase in demand
The Rugby League Four Nations series will kick off on November 5, at Wembley stadium this year, where the four best national rugby league squads will clash against each other. The inaugural encounter of the four Nations series at Wembley, will have Wales
combating New Zealand which will then be followed by England taking on against Australia on the same day.
Tickets for the much awaited series have been on sale for two weeks, with the cost of £10 only. The popularity of this event is apparent from the fact that with over 15,000 tickets already sold, fans have pushed the Rugby Football League (RFL) management
for an extension of the deadline. The RFL finally succumbed to the pressure and extended the deadline to purchase tickets until Monday, July 25.
While commenting on the mega sporting event and discussing the extension of the ticket sale deadline, Andy Hewitt, the Director of Marketing and Communications for the RFL stated, “We’re delighted with the uptake we’ve witnessed on tickets since we announced
the offer. The Wembley Double Header promises to be one of the most exciting and highly anticipated days of Rugby League in recent years and we’ve decided to extend our offer for three more days to allow fans to take full advantage of the offer.”
He further added, “Wembley Stadium is one of the greatest stadiums in world sport and we’re delighted to be taking International Rugby League back to the national stadium for what promises to be a fantastic day of Rugby League.”
With the extension of the tickets’ purchase deadline, the price of the ticket has also come down from £25 to £10, so that the maximum number of fans may benefit from the extension. The management has offered fans the ability to book tickets by phone or online
using promotional codes.
On Saturday, October 29, England will kick-off their Gillette Four Nations campaign when they will play Wales in Leigh Sports Village.
On Saturday, November 12, the remaining game of England will be played against New Zealand and the tickets for this encounter have also been discounted by 50 percent for participants.
In their final group fixture on Sunday, November 13 at The Racecourse Ground in Wrexham, Wales will take on Australia.
The reduced prices which are offered for most of the left-over clashes will not be observed for the finals of the Four Nations Series, which is priced at £20 for adults. On Saturday, November 19, the final encounter of 2011 Gillette Four Nations will be
held at Elland Road in Leeds.
