The Giving Tree tipped to stand first in Fillies’ Handicap
The Giving Tree is likely to unleash a decent run and claim top spot in the Bathwick Tyres British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Handicap that will be held at Salisbury racecourse on Thursday, May 17. The action is scheduled to start at 2:10 (GMT).
On the good track of 1 mile, 1 furlong and 198 yards, the Sylvester Kirk-trained bay filly will face a dozen rivals such as Mahkama, Coplow, Shestheman, Zingana, Candycakes, Virginia Gallica, Traveller’s Tales, Little Dutch Girl, Dutch Diamond, Danube River, Shannon Spree and Jane Lachatte. The winner will be awarded a cash prize worth £6,469.
The Giving Tree is on a hat-trick at the moment. After starting her career with a 8th spot on July 8, 2011, she moved ahead to grab a 5th position and a runner-up rank in the month of September.
The three-year-old veteran sprinter excellently broke her maiden on October 12. She stepped ahead to finish first in the very next outing on April 11, 2012.
These two outstanding performances and epic triumphs have hiked the fantastic filly’s confidence level to a great extent along with placing her at the top of the betting card for today’s Handicap.
If The Giving Tree makes an accurate use of her capabilities, she will have up to 95 percent chances to finish first.
However, each one of Shestheman and Danube River can trigger an upset in today’s marathon.
Shestheman staged a stunning debut with a runner-up rank on October 18, 2011. The David Lanigan-trained bay filly proceeded to break her maiden in the very next start on April 21, 2012. Currently, she is awash with enthusiasm that will help her make a big impact in the Handicap.
On the other hand, Danube River has excellently won 1 of her total 3 starts to date. Debuting with a 5th spot on March 16, 2012, Mark Johnston’s filly finished first in the subsequent start on March 30. She grabbed a third in her third outing on May 2.
Thus, there will be a tough tug of war in the race. Let us see who walks away with the ace title.
