Without Sam Wanamaker's life-long obsession, there would be no new Globe theatre.

Sam Wanamaker was a regular visitor to the Anchor Tavern at Bankside in the 1960s and 1970s.  I knew him briefly there and it's thanks entirely to his efforts we have the Globe.
