The Gold Cheongsam looks confident for third Newmarket victory
The duo of Jeremy Noseda and Frankie Dettori is more than enough to gauge the guts of a runner. When we see these two names associated with The Gold Cheongsam, we can imagine nothing except victory. Have learnt some new racing techniques from Noseda, the bay filly is going to run under Dettori in today’s high-profile race of Jaguar Cars Cheveley Park Stakes (Group 1) (Fillies) that will go down at Newmarket.
The best thing is that the two-year-old novice runner has recently won two big races at this venue. Moreover, she is coming straight from a fabulous hat-trick of victories. So, the whole situation is quite favourable for her to outplay 11 competitors over 6 furlongs in a bid to taste a tremendous victory. The surface being good is ideal for her to run smoothly and confidently.
The Gold Cheongsam’s five-race career shows three triumphs. What an awesome record! She has proved her class in different sort of conditions. So, we must have no doubt to expect a thumping performance from her.
The Irish runner debuted in May 2012 and finished third in her maiden race named as E B F Anthony Simmons Maiden Stakes (Sponsored By Telecom UK). She was the 2-1 favourite for that contest.
Being over-confident of the filly’s skills, Noseda decided to run her in the Albany Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) of the gorgeous Royal Ascot festival. Competing against 13 rivals, she fought well but finished fifth.
The daughter of Red Clubs out of Fuerta Ventura managed to break her maiden by beating a dozen of competitors in the Audi Cambridge Median Auction Maiden Stakes, held at Newmarket on July 27.
She stunned all by winning the 19-runner event of Adnams Bitter Fillies' Nursery over the same track on August 4. Finally, she completed her hat-trick with the title of Weatherbys Insurance £300,000 2-Y-O Stakes that took place at Doncaster on September 13.
Though the filly has all the guts to thrive today, but she will have to be cautious of Rosdhu Queen, Baileys Jubilee, Ceiling Kitty and Maureen as each one of them is strong enough.
A fiery battle is just on the cards. Be ready to enjoy it.
