Do the Police take so long to attend a burgulary, or not turn up at all. Surely if there is less crime then they should have more time to deal with such matters.

  1. It's because the Police take so long to attend a burglary or any such incident. That's why the crime figures are down-no one can see the point in reporting a crime, if the police don't turn up or they have to answer 101 questions, before the Police consider doing anything-so if it's unreported-there's no crime figure and the Governments happy!!!

To much red tape and human rights!!!!

  2. Burglaries are too labour intensive to meet government targets. Better for them to break up a playground fight and caution two people than a Burglar they can't find. Besides.... i never believe a word, that pack of liars, tell us anyway.

  3. Crime figures are flawed as they are often 'massaged' to look better as with most statistics.

As for attendance times, where I work we have a set time to get to burglaries and other offences and I for one usually do get there within the time limit unless I get called to an emergency whilst en-route (we have to deal with emergencies as well you know!)

If you are receiving bad service then complain, I would and have done so in the past with a degree of success.

Lastly, the Police service is not perfect but always under scrutiny.  Its run in the main by the officers at the sharp end, the ones you sometimes see on the streets when we're not pounding keyboards and wading through red tape.  We do our best with what we've got when we're constantly struggling over the hurdles that are put in front of us but we make it work.

If you think you can help us to be better, we're always recruiting.

  4. If a + b + c + d + e = f, and a decreases, it doesn't mean that f will necessarily decrease.

    Perhaps there are less cops

Perhaps there are more people, and more crimes even though lower crime per capita

Perhaps the roads are in worse condition and it takes cops longer to get there because they have to drive slower

Perhaps urban sprawl means they have to drive farther to respond

Perhaps more paperwork is required of cops now so they have less time "on the beat"

Could be a million reasons why.

  5. Coffee and donuts, then work.

  6. cause the government think we are all full of sh*t, the police are out dealing with the crimes that the government says arent happening.

  7. The government told us there were WMD in Iraq was there, no.

The moral of this story is don't believe a word the government say's :)

  8. When you consider that ANY insignificant offence related to car are regarded as Crime, and that the police is all h**l out chasing motorists 24/7, no wonder the liars at #10 can boost crime is going down. But what crimes ???????? that is a hidden agenda secret !

  9. Because the figures are not down, the government lie about everything, because they have destroyed the country, and the police are overstretched.

  10. the labour party sailed in on a sea of lies and deception. and they will sail out on that same sea. they are incapable of truth and honesty.

  11. Well it depends on the size of the town and how many police there are.

  12. LOL - You have to be away with the fairies to believe a single word the government says.

The plod juggle the figures all the time, and they really are useless, lying pillocks themselves.

Not so long back a local kid got absolutely mauled by a dog and the plod who turned out (more than 24 hours later) tried to say there was nothing they could do about it. According to them we now live in a country where dogs can ravage humans and there is nothing to be done about it!

All they're really fit for is sitting at speed traps and catching bad drivers to rake in money; they've become uniformed back door tax collectors.

    Nothing more.

    Nothing less.

  13. Where do you get your information?  We ALWAYS show up, how else do you think its investigated?  Stop ASSuming.

EDIT:  You have no clue what you're talking about.

  14. Hmmm.  Not that I've noticed.  People are stealing gas and oil out of cars, the economy sucks, food prices have increased, budget cuts force lay offs, other companies are laying off, our dollar isn't worth anything, and the government says crime figures are down?

    Consider the source:  the government.

  15. The Government said it? Who in their right mind believes anything they say?

  16. There may be less crime but that just means on average. For example, there may be more shootings but less car thefts. E.g. if the shootings have gone up by 10% but car thefts have gone down by 50% then on average those crimes have decreased in number, (but maybe not in severity*).

The reason the police take so bloody long may be because if you call 999 they put you through to the local police station, who then have to tell the local main police station, who then dispatch police from either the local or the main one to you. E.g. I live in Bedworth, Warwickshire and if I call the police, it goes to Sutton Coldfield which isn't even in the same county!

Also have you noticed that there have been a lot of news reports on stabbings but apparantly knife crime has gone down?

*severity - how severe something is.

  17. I am tired of listenting to all this nonsense.

CRIME IS DOWN - don't argue - BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YEW!

I agree with ITMatt above - if people stopped reporting crimes there would then be less of them to go on about.

One final point, is a witness the same thing as a grass?

  18. Because the police force is getting ever smaller.

You'll also find that crime has now reduced, just the number of people reporting has.
