The Great Khali undergoes tumour surgery in Pittsburgh – WWE News
Dalip Singh Rana, popular with ring name The Great Khali, underwent a successful growth hormone secreting tumour in Pittsburgh earlier this week.
Khali, who is among the most prominent faces of the World Wrestling Entertainment, is known for his enormous size. He made his debut in the WWE in 2006 against The Undertaker. Dalip became the first ever Indian to sign an official contract with the WWE.
“The tumor is called a growth hormone secreting tumor and what it does it produces an excessive amount of growth hormone and when that occurs, the body becomes much larger, the organs become larger, the bones become larger,” revealed Dr. Joseph Maroon.
According to Maroon, Khali is doing good now but he could have developed cardiac diseases if the tumour was not removed.
“This was a procedure in which we go through the nose an endoscopic microsurgical way to remove the tumor that’s at the very base of the skull in the brain,” Maroon added.
Harpinder Singh, Dalip’s wife, spoke to the reporters as well, saying that the former WWE champion is now in recovering.
“He is 7-feet-2-inches tall, 350 pounds,” said Harpinder.
“They removed his tumor and everything is okay now. He is safe now,” she added.
The Great Khali has become a known figure worldwide for his huge size and his in-ring dominancy over his opponents.
He went head to head against The Undertaker in his debut match, an opponent most professional wrestlers fear to step in the ring against. Since then, Khali has cemented his legacy in the WWE as one of the hugest men to be in the WWE.
Today, Dalip stands among the most popular Indian celebrities around the world. He is among the most known Indian faces in the western world, especially among children and WWE fans.
Khali has also appeared in several Hollywood and Bollywood movies, flaunting his huge physique. Among all, his participation in The Longest Yard is most renowned.
As of now, fans need not to worry about the ‘Giant’. The Great Khali will be back in the ring soon to bash his opponents once again with his might right hand.
