The world cup as we know..was a damp squib so.... it's back to reality and to the greatest rugby show on earth..and the only rugby competition that actually means anything to anyone - on this big blue beautiful rock..

Yes - the Historic exciting Six Nations...

Who is going to win it?

Will England and Ashton be found out?

Will France be on fire...will Ireland even turn up?

Are you excited?

What are your predictions, hopes and fears..and who do you support?

Ten points will be awarded for enthusiasm...

  1. RUBBISH!!!!   The world cup was awsome! The six nations promises to be a mediocre event followed by only few people, unlike the WC which saw folks from all corners of the globe hack into websites to watch, and honestly I think the Super 14 will be better than the six nations.

  2. The RWC was stunning and the best team won, GO SPRINGBOKS. The six nations is good but NOT better then the Tri - nations, everyone knows it. I disagree with you that the 6 nations is the greatest rugby show on earth. The Tri-nations and  the Super 14 mate. Now that is rugby. You should check it out, believe me you will change your opinion.

Anyway, I pick Scotland to win the 6 nations.

  3. What do you mean about England being found out?

France will win it but will be pushed hard by England who will finish second. Ireland will be a bit indifferent but will still finish 3rd. Wales fourth, Italy 5th and Scotland for the wooden spoon.

Englands young talents will shine. Vanikolo (or however you spell it) will be like Lomu in a white shirt. Matt Tait will put in several massive hits on Henson in revenge for the way Henson threw him around on his debut. Henson will have to come off for 5 minutes after each tackle to re-do his hair gel.

Italy will slap Scotland sideways and get a draw against Wales. Ronan O'Gara and Brian O' Driscoll will have a fight on the pitch. O'Gara will win.  France will sling it around and play some attractive rugby.

England will win at least one game with Jonny's left boot scoring all the points

  4. Well the Tri Nations is proably a better show than this but anyway, i honestly think England can win it. We've got some exciting new players with the likes of Vainikolo, Varndell, Cipriani and Haskell.

However the French aren't going to roll over and if the Irish do 'turn up' then they will be the team to beat.

But anyway f*cking COME ON ENGLAND!!!!!

  5. Wales could just slip under the radar, and prove to be the dark horse. The new French set up will be hard to beat. Ireland seems to have imploded. Scotland just aren't cut out to win. And the Pom team proved they had the heart, but I doubt they have the coach or the selectors to win. The wooden spoon ? Guess that goes to to team no one likes to back - Italy, shame, they can play some good rugby.

Edit: WW thanks so much for reminding us that the Bokke won the WC and are the best team in the world. . .  Boring, change the record mate, stop you gloating and talk some rugby.

little tip for you dipshit: RSA is not playing in the six nations.

  6. ill be going for the irish, hella team but cruddy at the wc, course i cant really talk being an all blacks guy.

BOD has really got to sort himself out though, he's been having some issues lately

  7. The World cup was only a damp squid for the supporters who's team played like damp squids..........I enjoyed it myself.....after I got over the welsh exit!

Anyway, I am looking forward to the 6N with great enthusiasm and anticipation with what Gartland will achieve so soon after his appointment...........his mind games are rattling some already;-)

I think the winner will be between France and Wales......they have the most to prove after the RWC disappointment!

The Irish who could be a threat, will turn up.......

O'Gambler, as you call him, has been on form lately and is kicking well.

Don't know what there is to find out in England.......but Wales don't fear them!

I have a good feeling that Wales will do well as they did in 2005 and will shock the critics!

I need not tell you who I support;-)

  8. The World Cup was a damp squid ?

    The Sixless Nations

    Am I excited ?

    My prediction is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I  enthusiastically give you 10 points for stupidity.

  9. 2007 Rugby World Cup in France was great.  Every game had a band that would get the crowd going and the Mexican wave was very popular. The rubgy was a high standard too, particularly in the pool stages. Wales v Fiji was an awesome match.

The 6 Nations won't be as good but it can still be alot of fun.  The visiting supporters to Croke Park will experience Europe's 4th largest sports stadium. (I'm looking forward to that).

England - the slight favourites in my book. Their forward pack will always keep them in the game. It's just a question of whether their backs can click.

France - loads of new faces in the squad.  You never know with the French. They will either gel and go onto slay everyone or they''ll underperform miserably. Dropping Nyanga was a big mistake.

Italy - Will find it hard to win a game this year.

Ireland - Ronan is in great form at the moment. If all their games are in the rain, Ireland will win the Grand Slam at a canter.  Realistically, they may struggle if they get key injuries to their pack.

Scotland - The dark horse?  Nobodies expecting much of them but they are improving. Nick De Luca deserves a start at centre. The best new Scottish back since Patterson emerged.

Wales - new coach. Expect them to play like Wasps?  A rush defence.   Much too soon to expect miracles.  Ryan Jones as the new captain is a great choice. Wales will entertain to the last minute though I doubt they will finish in the top 2.

I support Wales. Shane Williams to be Player of The Tournament.  He just gets better and better.
