Andrei Konovalov has predicted a 2-0 score line ahead of the final group stage game between Russia and Greece on Saturday
d**k Advocaat’s men will play the final group stage match of Euro 2012 against Greece at Stadion Narodowy where a draw can help them reach the quarter-finals of the European tournament.
FC Torpedo Moscow midfielder, Andrei Konovalov, has warned the Russian national team against the threat posed by Blue-white, insisting that the Greeks have a great squad. He warned his national side against complacency, conceding
that Russia need to be on their toes to win the respective encounter.
The Euro 2008 semi-finalists kick started the European tournament by winning 4-1 against Czech Republic at Stadion Miejski on Tuesday, but the latest 1-1 draw against Poland has put them under high pressure.
Konovalov has lamented the latest draw against the white and reds, admitting that they failed to score the winning goal late in the game. He added that it looked like Russia played for a draw.
The former Spartak Moscow attacking midfielder has conceded that Russia started the match confidently after scoring a goal, but they failed to put pressure on the opponent in the second-half.
He went on to urge his team-mates to alter the situation if they are to help their country reach the later stages of Euros.
“Russia are showing some entertaining football but I recommend them not to relax at the moment.”
