Then perhaps us white english men should do the haka,

At the end of the day it looks total poo, when its not done by maori, Whites dont bring the same intesity to it as it has no relevance to their background or culture,

That is why whites shouldnt take part,

Have you seen the old footage of it by the invincibles.. How c**p was it, they wouldnt of put fear into a cat..... until a maori came along and showed them how it was meant to be done" The Maori way".

  1. you are just a sore loser, pal.im a south african, springbok supporter and i just love watching those kiwis perform the haka.i have deep respect for the all blacks.why do you think that only maoris should do it?are they not all representing the same country wether white or maori?

  2. Nonsense.

First, the haka is not specifically "a Maori thing"..its a Pacific Islander "thing" and there are different hakas from different islands.

There are very few genuinely Maori players in the side anyway..the majority of "non-white" players in the NZ team are actually from a mixture of various Pacific islands like Tonga and Papua New Guinea.

If non Kiwis think it "looks rubbish", then tough..we dont really care what you think. You can criticise NZ rugby when you start beating us regularly.

  3. Showing your ignorance a bit mate. There are many in the team who may look white but will have Maori blood somewhere in their line, have a look at the AB Maori team there are quite a few that are white and even ginger haired!! Yet they are still Maori. The haka has been used since the Originals and the cultural significance is there. Plus go watch the All Blacks performing it and tell me you don't find it a powerful piece of psychology,

  4. I disagree. I think the AB Haka, while a Maori cultural practice, has represented all All Black reps since the Originals when nearly all were white. To perform the Haka from a rugby point of view is a tradition all Kiwi rugby kids, "white folk" and otherwise dream of. Furthermore, you've got Fijians, Samoans, Tongans in the team who have their own version (are they counted as "white folk"?).

Whilst we should not forget the Haka is Maori, when it comes to the ABs there should be an exception. Having said that I'm no Maori so I'll leave it to the rightful owners to decide. Personally, I love the Haka no matter who performs it.."Ka mate.."

  5. have you ever heard the word''TRADITION''? All Black sides since the turn of the last century have delighted crowds and put fear into the opposition with celebration of NEW ZEALAND culture.but if you think it's rubbish,I suppose we should ban it in England until New Zealand pick full Maori to represent the AB's as well as the Maori AB's.Come on get a life!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I totaly agree.

  7. It originally came from Samoa and yes I think think the whites look ridiculous doing it
