The history of football is marked by some stupendous men, who along with their phenomenal performances are remembered despite all the years that have passed. It is with utmost pleasure that this article highlights the names of some of the greatest Right-Backs
of football era ever to step on the grounds. The top ten right-backs, with names embedded in gold, are as follows.

Gianluca Zambrotta, the Italian football player was born on 19 February 1977 in Como, Italy. He began his professional career in 1994 with Como Calcio club at the age of 17. In his first season, the young footballer played only one match. The following seasons,
1995–96 and 1996–97 Zambrotta made 47 appearances scoring a total of six goals. However, Zambrotta’s real career begun when his talent was spotted by the Bari boss, Eugenio Fascetti.
The world cup winner currently plays as a full back for Serie A club Milan. He has played for three of the world's leading clubs in three of the world’s greatest leagues; Juventus, Barcelona, and AC Milan. There’s no surprise in the fact that he has an inspiring
trophy haul. Zambrotta has won two Serie A titles. But the winning of 2006 World Cup is regarded as his best achievement so far. He has 81 caps for Italy.

Gary Alexander Neville, born 18 February 1975 is an English football player. Neville started his professional career at Old Trafford. Being a rare man, who played his entire career in the same club, Manchester United, earned him the ‘one club man’ title.
This further made way for Sir Alex Ferguson to place his trust in Neville, declaring him the club’s captain.
Gary made his international debut in the year 1995 and stayed as first choice right back for the country for more than a decade. He won seven Premier League titles, along with three FA Cups, a League cup and a Champions League. To add a cherry on the top,
Neville was a key part of Man Utd’s unparallel treble in 1999 and played 565 games for them. He is the England’s most capped right-back player at the international level.
The player joined the Three Lions in 1995 playing the position of right back and managed to make eighty five appearances for country without even scoring a single goal before taking international retirement in 2007.
8. Phil Neal
Philip George Neal was born in Irchester, Northamptonshire on 20 February 1951. Phil, being the only official to have appeared in the first five of Liverpool’s European Cup finals, won four of them. The former footballer’s son, Ashley Neal also had a short-lived
footballing career.
Phil Neal’s career was marked with tremendous accolades. His accomplishments were majorly being a part of UEFA Cup winning team, eight championship winning teams, four League Cup winning teams and quite startlingly, four European Cup winning teams. He kicked
in a total of 70 league goals in his career. He joined the English national team in 1976 and become an integral part of the Three lions. In the seven years that this player was a part of the national squad, he made fifty appearances for country and during
this process, he netted five goals for International glory.
