The Heroic Formula One Driver- Lewis Hamilton

The lad with an aggressive, assertive and ferocious mood, Carl Davidson Hamilton is a British Formula One racing driver who is currently teamed with McLaren Mercedes. Hamilton is more of a man who wears his heart on his sleeve. Things always have to be black and white with him. He is a born extremist, for every thing he comes across in his life, Hamilton either takes it to the extreme high or the extreme low.

Lewis Hamilton was born on the 7th of January, 1985 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. He made his mark in Formula One racing by being the youngest ever Formula One World Champion.

Hamilton has been over obsessed with cars and driving since always. In December 1995, at the tenth Christmas season of his life, the confident young boy went straight to the McLaren team principal Ron Dennis at the Autosport Awards ceremony and told him that one day he would race for him. Hamilton’s determination was rock solid when he proudly declared to Dennis that he wants to race for the McLaren Team. Not more than three winters have passed when he entered the Young Driver Support Programme, for McLaren and Mercedes-Benz.

He raced through his driving career in full acceleration. One after another, the determined young man kept bagging victories. With his wins, he only became more confident, more reliable and more genuine with his driving skills. After starting with a win with British Formula Renault, he headed towards Formula Three Euroseries to win the GP2 championship. He kept climbing up the ladder with his heroic aggression to finally land a place in Formula One Championships -- only 12 years after his first meeting with Dennis.

In 2007, at his debut for Formula One racing, he was labelled as “the first black” for he is the first driver to come from a black father and white mother, a mixed race. In his initial Formula One season, Hamilton successfully made numerous records and stood second in the Formula One Championship in 2007, just a single point behind Kimi Raikkonen . The next year came gleaming upon him as he won his first World Championship, leaving Felipe Massa behind, by a margin of just one point. The happy man, drenched in his love for McLaren and excitement for cars stated that he wants to stay with the McLaren team all through his F1 career.

He firmly believes that he knows the ways to squeeze the maximum performance out of a car. The zealous British driver had so far taken part in a total of 57 races. He had been successful to win 11 of them and taken the podium position for 29. During his career, he has taken pole positions on 17 different occasions and has the credit of driving the 5th fastest lap. The year 2009 concluded with a total of 49 points along with a ranking of 5 th position.

Lately, he has been the centre of attention for the media and the race lovers for various reasons. His personal life, attitude and career have been put under the scanner, every now and then. His relationship with his father has been one of the major highlights on newspapers and television in recent days. He took his father as his manager at the beginning of the season. Due to their incompatibility with each other, the decision was reversed. He told that it was completely a private matter and that now they were both in contact with each other. Also, he told that he still receives positive feedback from his dad and vice versa.

But whatever the case maybe, people like to hear about him. Let it be controversies, the love affairs, the family life or sitting behind the wheel. He makes his fans excited and thrilled in the only way he knows.
