The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova?

Ive heard its a good read. For the people who reead it is it worth reading.? Did you like it?

I really enjoyed it. It can get a bit slow in parts but overall i thought it was a good book.

I couldn't even finish it.

It's marketed as a horror-esque novel, and yet even the 'scariest' scenes were putting me to sleep.

The writing itself was lovely, but the plot/action/characters/pacing were dreadful. It read like an old history book and not the good kind. It sounded like the author was a History major who had never read a fiction book. That being said, my History teacher liked it.

My English teacher actually finished it, and he said it was not worth the read - no real pay-off in the end.

It is very worth reading. But it can get a bit slow. I would suggest that you listen to a recording, the background music adds a whole different level. It was really historical and educational but ina great way.
