  1. Are you kidding? I have 3 different classes to learn that. You're not only talking over time but also geographically, Geez, you can't sum it up quickly. It's like studying the history of architecture. It's different all over the world and it changes all of the time.

  2. It started in ancient Greece . It was to celebrate one of the gods of art. Tragedies were played in the morning Comedies at night. It was so nobody left the theater sad.

Fun Fact: you were there all day so if you did not like the show

you through your lunch at them usually............tomatoes

    Historycannel.com it can help

  3. I'm sure it probably just started with cavepeople reenacting the day's hunt. But it became as we know it with the Ancient Greeks and other Europeans, although there was other (often strange looking to us) theatre in Asia.

  4. If you want to email me, I could send you an essay I wrote on the "invention" of theatre in Ancient Greece.

Beyond that, if you can be more specific, I can help; but the history of theatre is an enormous topic. I spent three years studying it at uni, then delved into specific aspects of it for a later degree in visual art history.
