What is this book about? I heard it was good and I'm interested... what did you think of it?

its about how the ring came to bilbo and his adventures and what happened before lotr actually started,i would definitely recommend it, i love lotr :D (there's suppose to be a movie about it coimg out 2011 i believe, actually there's suppose to be 2 movies)

it's basically a prequel to the lord of the rings

it's very similar to that writing style, i.e. overly descriptive

it's about bilbo, frodo's fav uncle, and his grand adventures

it sets up locations for the lord of the rings

plus, in lotr, frodo always mentions bilbo's great adventures and his longings to have one

that's basically it

you meet classic characters like golem. the power of the ring is introduced, too.

It is about a hobbit who has adventures. Involved in them are various good guys and bad guys.

Wizards, Orcs, dwarves, treachery and subtrefuge. If you enjoy fantasy, you will like it.

OTH, since is the prequel to the Lord of the Rings, I am at a loss how you have not heard of it and, if LTR fan, aren't reading it RIGHT NOW.

Did you see Lord of the Rings? Well it's about Biblo Baggins' adventures with Gandalf and the Dwarf Lords. He finds the Ring in it. Very good read. Takes a little bit to finish, but I very highly recommend it.

it is very good, if you like fantasy and adventure -type books.

it's a prequel to the lord of the rings, and it details bilbo baggins' adventures with thirteen dwarves on a quest to regain their old home and treasure that was taken from them by a dragon named smaug.

it's not very long, and it's very easy to get lost in.

The Hobbit was written by Tolkien before the Lord of the Rings trilogy for children, but is an interesting prequel that can be enjoyed by all ages. It tells the story of an ordinary hobbit, Bilbo Baggins (Frodo's uncle) and his adventures with dwarves to recover lost treasure. He also finds the Ring. Gandalf and Elrond also make an appearance. It's quite fun and entertaining.

It is my all time favorite. It is a prequal to the lord of the rings. We learn about whats happened to Bilbo and how he got the ring from gollum and we also see Gandalf, a galnce at his greatness.

Eh, as said, Bilbo as main character, traveling with dwarves and gandalf, it's good if you want to read it. I read it twice i think.
