The Holyman seeking hat trick through the Gordon’s Stakes (Handicap) at Goodwood
Goodwood will become home for the Class 4 Gordon’s Stakes (Handicap) over a mile and four furlongs on Friday, 8th June. The £5,175 prize money has attracted a line-up of eight four-year and older runners.
Grabbing the most credentials ever since the new season took off is The Holyman, Footstepsinthesand’s four-year-old chestnut colt out of mare, Sunset. He is unbeaten in the two seasonal starts that he undertook during the current season.
He has raced at Lingfield four times in a row, two during the previous season and two fell on his profile after entering the new season.
The four-year-old won the Thousands Of Sports Experiences At Bluesq.Com Handicap on 13th January at Lingfield over a mile and four furlongs. He went victorious through the wire with Liam Keniry onboard and the two led the runner up, Sunset Place,
by 1 ¼ lengths.
The 2/1 favourite of the race, Thundering Home, ended fifth on the track of eight.
He then got a firm grip on the Get Your Bet On At Bluesq.Com Handicap on 25th February at Lingfield over a mile and five furlongs. He was the 6/4 favourite winner of the race with Dane O’Neill onboard.
Sand Skier settled second after striding through the 1 ¼ lengths by which he missed the race. Reserving the third spot for himself was Sunset Place.
Today he is up for the third outing of the new season at a new race course at which he has no racing experience. Winning today will entitle him to a hat trick.
The only entry among the candidates today who has raced at Goodwood, is Nave. His final race of the previous season was in the Discovery Foods Stakes (Handicap) on 21st September over a mile and four furlongs. Nave finished fourth while the race
was won by Samsona Son.
The Holyman will need to look out for Watered Silk and Luggers Hall. One has struck victory through the very recent race and the other has got grip on his performance lately. Both of them have the ability to become threatening on the race track today.
