The House refers papers of impeachment of the President to the Committee on the Judiciary. Thoughts?

  1. Yeah, I'd probably shelf that one in committee in a hurry too.

Sending it to committee is what always happens.  That's what happened with both impeachments of presidents, the impeachments (some successful) of justices, and Nixon's.  The committee is generally 6 Democrats and 6 Republicans.  To get out of committee, they have to convince at least one member of the committee that the president of their own party needs to go.

    If you read the articles, you will find that not one will fly.  The high misdemeanors Bush is actually guilty of, the Democrats are even more guilty of, so you won't find those on any articles of impeachment, either.

    BTW, the committee vote in Nixon's case was 12-0.  That's why he resigned.

  3. I guess we'll have to get in touch with the members of the Judiciary Committee and pressure them to get to work.
