  1. You mean Astros once had Glory Days? Seems so long ago. Their pitching staff is horrendous and a huge shame. With Berkman and Lee putting up huge numbers, and the addition of Tejada, they should have been contenders this season/ However, like most teams, they lack steady, quality  pitching and going no where.

  2. I say the Astros might be back in playoff contention by 2014.

  3. The Astros have had "glory days?"

The Blue Jays, A's,  and Yankees are teams that have had "glory days." The Astros have had a couple good seasons, but their "glory days" haven't happened yet.

  4. With the "Killer Bees" in the 1990s and 2000s, they were one of the best teams in the National League. If they still had their pitching from 2004 and 2005, they would be near the top of their division.

  5. In my opinion, the two best NLCS's were 1980 and 1986. In 1980 the Astros played Philadelphia, and in 1986 they played the Mets. Game 6 of the 1986 NLCS was the greatest NLCS game ever.

The Astros' window of opportunity was in 2004 when they lost to the Cardinals, if they beat St Louis, they win it all.

Now, it'll be a few more years before they can go for it all.

  6. Heck. I rememmer when they were The Houston Colt 45's. Jimmy Wynn (The Toy Cannon) was my favorite player back in the day.
