First Seen the Hyde Park Corner at Oxford Street in London in 1981 and seen the Strike of the Transport Workers as well as the Nurses in their Demonstration. Peaceful ones with very large crowd to support them. Can we have that in S'pore?

  1. It was established by the government on September 1,2000.

This Speakers' Corner is not the same as the one in Hyde Park - it cannot be.Singapore society & London society are not the same, the political conditions differ.

Of course, there are the restrictions on expressing matters related to religion & religious beliefs & those that "may cause feelings of enmity, hatred, ill will or hostility between racial or religious groups" but there is none on speaking out against the government.

There are no any fiery speeches these days.

It has become just another park.
