The Ice Factor likely to prevail in the bookings@dundalkstadium.com Handicap
The Ice Factor is likely to prevail in the bookings@dundalkstadium.com Handicap at Dundalk in Ireland on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded with a cash prize of €4,830.
The event, which has an overall distance of 2 miles to cover, has attracted 14 runners and their names are as follows: The Frog Prince, Daytime Dreamer, Mutiska, Jerry´s Agent, Talenti, Accompanist, The Ice Factor, Monahullan Prince, Silas Mariner,
The Fonze, Swing Pattern, Baiadilla Beach, Gan Locht and Munster Fusilier. The going will be standard in the race, which is scheduled to start at 8:20 GMT.
Out of the above mentioned runners, The Ice Factor has the best chances of winning, as he is in very good shape right now. He has participated in 10 races until now, winning a couple of them until now. His strike rate is not much impressive, but he
has also secured a runner position once, which shows that he is capable of fighting for victories.
Mervyn Torrens’ trainee has been taking part in different races at this level and his performances have been quite promising. He finished at the top of the table in one of his recent races, thus the punters will be interested in placing a lot of bets
in his favour.
The four-year-old gelding will be partnered by M C Hussey, who is relatively new to the sport and will be looking to make a solid impression today. He will have to produce a special effort in order to impress one and all at Dundalk today.
Another runner, who has been doing a decent job over the past few months, is Talenti. He has participated in 40 races in his career, winning six of them. However, he has finished runner up on seven occasions, which suggests that he is quite capable
of fighting for victories regularly.
The nine-year-old gelding will be ridden by C. D. Hayes, who is yet to make a name for himself in the sport.
Other than the top two favourites, The Frog Prince, Daytime Dreamer, Mutiska and Jerry´s Agent will also be the ones to watch out for. They are all decent runners and can pull off a surprise at Dundalk today.
