The Indian squad all set to shine in the Austrian International Challenge 2012
The Indian squad is fully charged as they start their expedition from qualifying round in the Austrian Challenge 2012 at Vienna today.
The Indians will bet on their prime shuttler Parupalli Kashyap and talented youngster P.C. Thulasi as most of the other singles players are relatively inexperienced and new to international badminton arena.
The Indian singles maestro P. Kashyap, who is currently ranked 29 in world ranking, will unleash attack against his Czech rival Jan Frohlich on Thursday while the young Indian girl Thulasi will take on third seed Elizabeth Cann of England in her first singles
encounter.
The second female Indian shuttler Aditi Mutatkar will be testing her skills against Iris Wang of U.S.A on Thursday. The American shuttler will also participate in doubles category along with her partner Rena Wang and the pair is third seed in the event.
The young Indian shuttlers Sameer Verma, K Srikanth, K Nandagopal and Rohit Yadav will have to go through a qualifying round which starts from today.
The Indian men will start their marathon with Sameer Verma locking horns with his Turkish rival Murat Sen. the Indian shuttler is brother of National champion Sourabh Verma and he is expected to put a great show.
The second Indian shuttler of the day is going to be K Srikanth who will take on Jamie Bonsels of England while K Nandagopal will be trying to surpass his Italian challenger Manuel Batista.
In men’s singles qualifying round, Rohit Yadav will be challenging Sebastian Schoettler of Germany before the final Indian contestant of the day HS Prannoy plays against the British shuttler Rhys Walker.
The solo Indian women’s singles qualifier, Neha Pandit will meet Alexandra Mathis of Austria. The Indian shuttler is not up against Alexandra Mathis only as she will also have to silence the crowd shouting for Austrian girl.
The top seeded Indian duo of Rupesh Kumar and Sanave Thomas will be sweating against Birger Abts and Jesus Lorenzo of Belgium and Spain, who paired up for this individual event.
In the second day of the tournament The Indian couple Tarun Kona and Arun Vishnu is going to invade against Luka Petric and Alen Roj of Slovenia while the pair of Manu Attri and Hema Nagendra Babu will try to edge their opponent duo of Gergely Krausz and
Marton Szatzker.
The Indian mixed doubles duo Hema Nagendra -Jyotshna will strive to bag victory over Maurice Niesner and Severine Corvilain of Germany and Belgium.
