Talk about his European girlfriend who is already an amazing tennis star or his multi-million dollar earnings, he was on top of the world.
This year saw a ‘struggling’ McIlroy who has been nowhere near last year’s magical performance. His lack of focus, his in-consistency and his over-confidence took him away from his love for golf.
The Irish Open has welcomed McIlroy and he is considered a ‘local favourite’.
“The last couple of years, I didn’t really enjoy the tag of home favourite, I just didn’t feel very comfortable with it, this year I really want to embrace that,” said McIlroy at his Irish Open press conference.
Donald is the current world number one and boy he worked hard for this spot!
He had a brilliant start to this year’s golf season and peaked as the best golfer in the world. It was the US Open that killed his streak and his prestige.
The level of play Donald depicted at the US Open was ‘horrible’. It just was not him. He made an early exit and failed to surprise fans at the prestigious tournament.
This year’s Irish Open has David Howell as the top man to grasp glory.
Howell has never been this passionate and is willing to go beyond his boundaries to get his hands on the trophy. His determination will see him outshining the rest of the lot.
