“The Jackpot” feels like the Joey Barton of darts, a look at the falling icon!
Adrian Lewis has finally opened up. It is not what one might expect from the world number 2, yet, he has spoken.
“The Jackpot” is furious about the recent criticism he has been facing in response to his terrible form these days and has blamed the media and the crowd for the pressure during his tournaments.
It came to a point where Lewis felt similar to Joey Barton. He has been a victim of a social website displaying hatred over his recent performance and has gone all against “The Jackpot”.
For the world number 2, it has been tough to cope up with the criticism and hatred after so much of appreciation and love. It has added to his misery and Lewis looks pretty shaken.
“I thought, ‘Am I that bad?’ I feel like the Joey Barton of darts. And why do people support the foreign players? It’s like me wanting Spain to win the Euros - what a joke. It’s true – me and (Phil) Taylor laugh about it along with all the other UK players.
I don’t understand it – they should support their own country,” said Lewis on his twitter page.
“The Jackpot” has had his share of good days. It was the McCoy’s Premier League where Lewis was on top and hit rock bottom at the same time.
Lewis versus Taylor was a big match at the Premier League. Taylor was the favourite to win but it was a pleasant surprise to witness Lewis defeating “The Power” of darts.
The news spread like fire. It was everywhere.
Later on, the Premier League saw Lewis facing defeat at the hands of Aussie Simon Whitlock. This defeat is where things went wrong for “The Jackpot”. Lewis was thrown out of the League and Whitlock got in the final against Taylor.
After the Premier League disaster, the UK Open was the next big thing. Lewis failed to make it to the finals and was knocked out of the tournament yet again.
Lewis has to be a little honest with the situation. He may be the world number 2 and his career has been amazing but he has been disappointing the fans with amazing consistency.
The criticism makes sense and “The Jackpot” should realize that he has to win the crowd once again with his magic at darts.
