The Japanese GP calls for a celebration at Red Bull headquarters

The Japanese Grand Prix unveiled the sixteenth and one of the most exhilarating and adventurous rounds of the 2010 Formula One season last Sunday, at the historical track of Suzuka.
Just like many of the other races of this season, the atmosphere was completely thrilling, awe-inspiring and the result was yet more exciting for all the race lovers.
The Austrian team Red Bull was once again able to demonstrate great pace and form on the track right from the Friday practices. The two team drivers, Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber occupied first and second positions while the
determined Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso, settled at third place.
However, one team that was not very happy at the end of the day was McLaren, as the championship defender Jenson Button pulled his car hard only to end as high as fourth. While the other team driver, Lewis Hamilton had a more disappointing
weekend as he could end nowhere better than fifth position. The British racer was followed by the pleasant surprise given by Michael Schumacher. The seven times World Champion marked his best finish of the season as he parked his Mercedes at sixth place.
Now, as the teams packed up the circus from the Suzuka Track, Red Bull talked to the media sharing their experience of the weekend along with reporting several on as well as off the track stories.
Sebastian Vettel:
A fine day started for the German at the land of the rising sun. The qualifying, which got cancelled on Saturday due to heavy rainstorm, took place on Sunday morning before the race began. Just like the two Friday practices, Red
Bull demonstrated great pace and form on the track at the qualifying as well. Vettel was simply not chasable by any of the other competitors, as he booked his pole position for the final race.
His first place on the grid further motivated the driver who cruised flawlessly through the track during the entire race and was able to embrace victory. With the addition of 25 points in his bank he got elevated to third place
in the Drivers’ Championship.
As the happy man left the Japanese soil he talked to the press saying, “This circuit is very special - the fans are incredible here and to get my second win in Suzuka is fantastic.”
Vettel has also conquered this track last year.
Mark Webber:
The other team driver, Mark Webber who ran second to Vettel throughout the race as well as during the practice and qualifying finished at second place on the podium, on Sunday.
However, despite this second place finish the driver has been able to safeguard his top place in the Drivers’ Championship of the year.
While describing his day at the Japanese track the Australian driver said, “Sebastian had an extra half tenth this morning and pole position is a nice thing to have on the chess board going into this race. Ultimately qualifying
was important, but I’m happy with how I drove today - I couldn’t have got a great deal more out of the car.”
The day surely called for a big celebration at Red Bull’s headquarters as this 1-2 finish of the team has helped them to stay at the top of the Constructors’ Championship with their 426 points.
