The Junior Golf Championship has Ankur Chadha to rule classes
The 2nd Hex City Albatross International Junior Golf Championship will be commencing from the 1st of December and will observe the presence of Ankur Chadha from the Indian line-up.
The Classic Golf Resort is welcoming over 140 golfers in Gurgaon on Wednesday that will be divided into groups till E. The groups are divided into age groups holding a range from 15 to 17 and 6 to 7 years where the golfers will be fighting for top honours
in a total of five classes.
Last year, the category A was won by Ankur Chadha. Chandha won the previously mentioned 15 to 17 year class and is hence in the limelight this time. Along with Chandha, Delhi Ladies Open winner Gauri Monga is also in the spot light.
Among the 140 field at the Golf Championship, 15 international golfers also made it to the greens. The global touch includes talented golfers from places like USA, Canada, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Indonesia and Thailand.
The scheduled event has a play spread over 54 holes that will be engaged in a stroke play format. The boys are girls in the groups A to D will be playing from this format where no cuts will be applied. As for the group E folks, they will be undergoing a
27 hole match with a 9 into 3 round.
According to Jyoti Randhawa, a professional golfer, this is a very good opportunity for the young golfers to show what they have got. He said that these type of the events never happened in his times so his junior days are quite different from what is happening
here.
He made the earlier statement at the media attraction held this Monday and also said that events like these will give a good push to these young stars and will place them in the international light soon.
About the tournament, the professional golfer, who has multiple Open victories in his record said that this championship is proving to be a great support podium. He added that the current lot is highly talented and competitive, so holding events like these
is in a way ensuring a strong golfing attack from the Indian side that can hand us many wins and medals in the future.
Randhawa also mentioned the current Indian star, Rashid Khan, who won a silver medal in the Asian games. Kahn will be turning professional this week at the Indian Open to be held this week and holds more confidence than one can imagine. About Khan, Randhawa
said that his recent win proves the type of form this player currently holds and him turning professional this week is a treat for Indian golf.
