  1. Kred's cycle begins with acetyl-CoA transferring its two-carbon acetyl group to the four-carbon acceptor compound (oxaloacetate) to form a six-carbon compound (citric acid).

    The citric acid then goes through a series of chemical transformations, losing first one, then a second carboxyl group as CO2.

    So your answer would be D. Citric acid!!

    In the first step of Krebs cycle (also called citric acid cycle) Oxaloacetate combines with Acetyl CoA and H2O to form Citric acid and CoA-SH. This step is catalysed by Citrate synthase.
