The King Malik Scott making his ring comeback – Boxing news
After four years, Malik ‘The King’ Scott will be back in action on February 18 at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Malik has stepped into the ring 32 times and has won all the matches. In other words, he is an unbeaten fighter who fights at the heavyweight level. Malik is now aiming to grab the title from Kendrick Releford in their upcoming match.
The February 18 event is being headlined by Paul Williams, Chris Arreola and Tavoris Cloud. All three fighters will be fighting separate bouts. Kendrick and Malik share an old rivalry since 2006 when Malik defeated Kendrick with a unanimous decision.
Malik, who has been out for three years, think he is in a better than ever shape and can beat Kendrick easily.
He asserted, “I’ve come back strong from a lot of adversity and climbed a lot of obstacles to get to this point, physically and mentally. I’m totally reincarnated, and a completely different fighter than I was before, and I’m ready to show the people that
a powerful American in the heavyweight division is right here, and I’m prepared to reintroduce them to that person next Saturday.”
Moreover, Malik thinks his four years of inactivity did not have a negative effect on his year, instead they gave him the time to prepare better. He said that before the gap, he was an injury prone boxer with some promotional setback but now he is better.
He further added that right now, he is in the best shape and he can do what he could not four years back.
The 31-year-old further said that all the injuries he suffered during his career made him stronger mentally and now he is ready to take on anyone to get to the title. Malik seems confident and brighter than ever since he believes the light is there now.
He thinks his doom days are over and now it is about time for him to get the deserved glory.
On February 18, Malik will meet Kendrick and time will decide which fighter is the better one. If Malik wins then he definitely will have his vengeance whereas if Kendrick wins then Malik will have to take the side once again.
