The Kings Cup: Udorn Duangdecha and how the $ 300,000 race ended
The Asian PGA Tour King's Cup commenced from the 25th of November and ended it's $ 300,000 race in Udorn Duangdecha's hands.
Duangdecha is reported to have obtained his first Asian Tour title after playing a splendid eventual round and charged the fields to win his maiden King's Cup on the 28th of November.
The golfer from Thailand managed to attain momentum in the last round of the tournament and held a lead of 5 strokes to pilot the competitive followers. The forty year old thus started the ending round 5 strokes ahead and recorded
an impressive 66 in R4 of the Cup. Duangdecha thus set the leaderboard on fire with a spotless six-under and carded a total of 276 at the end.
The event held at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club thus ended with a 12-under and a two-stroke victory after the R4 of the tournament.
From the list of other contenders, Pariya Junhasavasdikul, Jbe Kruger and Joong-Kyung Mo attained the runner up position with a 278 on the leader board. Duangdecha’s fellow compatriot Junhasavasdikul managed to card a minus 10 in total and ended up even par
after the last round of the event.
Other than Junhasavasdikul, Mo also stood at the second place on the board, but carded a minus 4 at the ending round. Mo collected a total of 278 which upon dissection is displayed as a 67, one 68, a 75 and finally a 68 in the
four rounds of the event.
Junhasavasdikul stood 2 strokes behind the leader and collected the highest score at the second and fourth round with a 72. He performed at his best in the third round with a 66 while the first round ended with an acceptable 68.
The third golfer on the T2 is a South African who ended the last round with a one up. Kb Kruger performed the worst in the T2 cult with a 73 and managed to card a minus 10 in total as well. The golfer recorded his best score in
the second round with a 65 when Mo and Junhasavasdikul carded 68 and a 72. As for the rest of the rounds, Kruger carded a 71 and a 69 in the first and third round of the Kings Cup.
Kruger has attained the runner up position for the third time this season which made it his record only after missing the putt. According to reports, the South African golfer attained the runner up position after missing one 50
footer putt at the 18th hole of the GC.
Coming over to the Thai leader, his best score appeared on the fourth round of the tournament numerically 66 and achieved the highest score on the second round with a 71. Round number one and three ended with a 70 and a 69 that
placed him in the lead with a minus 6 in the R4.
To round up the top five, Prom Meesawat and Kwanchai Tannin ended on the T5 position. The golfers carded a 279 in total and thus had a strokes difference from the runner up cult. The first of both of these players lead to the same
result and handed them a 68. The scores differed in the second round where Meesawat carded a rather lower score of 67 whereas Tannin failed to control his score and collected a 70.
Round three kept Meesawat’s score better than Tannin and awarded a 70 to the Thai with a 72 from the front. The R4 levelled efforts from both players when Messawat faltered to collect a 74 while Tannin carded an impressive 69
making a minus 9 in total.
“This victory is for my king” Duangdecha said.
