The Koreans ready to play with the world
Kim Bi-O and Kang Sung-Hoon will now be appearing in the next year’s tournaments, with the top class golfers.
According to latest reports, the South Korean golfers appeared at the recently ended, PGA Tour Qualifying School and earned the Tour card for the year 2011. The
card was earned by the top 25 finishers, of the Qualifying tournament, held from the 2nd December till the 5th of this month.
The tournament was a six round extravaganza and hosted the last stage of golf, at the Crooked Cat GC, where Kim played a total of 417 strokes. The golfer from
South Korea, thus carded 12 under, in total and ended up at the 11th place, tied with four other golfers. The twenty year old collected a score of 75 at the last round of the event and thus carded a minus three at the Orange County National Golf
Center & Lodge.
As for Kang, he carded a total stroke bucket of 418 and ended up at T 16, with five other golfers. The South Korean collected a 71, at the last round of the event and finished off the game,
with a minus 11 in the scorecard. For the overall six rounds, the twenty-three-year-old, impressively, never shot above the par line. The two golfers from South Korea will be joining three compatriots on the tour, which are Choi Kyung-ju, Yang Yong-Eun and
Charlie Wi. As for Wi, the golfer attained his first PGA Tour card, in the year 2005.The Q-school has been able to gather a cult of 150 players, residing from various struggles of life and awarded the top 25 players from the tournament, with full playing rights
to the PGA Tour for 2011. Other than that, the next 50 golfers have earned full cards, for the second-tier, Nationwide Tour.
Apart from the reward this school offers, the qualifying tournament is known as, one of most difficult plays ever. It is a lethal mixture of immense pressure and nervousness, where the golfers
have to compete amidst a huge battle field, keeping their skills in check. Other than the Koreans, who earned the card, two golfers failed to handle the load and thus failed to earn the card. The golfers are Lee Seung-Ho and Bae Sang-Moon, who attained the
36th and the 50th position, with a minus seven and five.
