Hi, It's beautiful, The Langdale Pikes are lovely, but if you are going to go hill walking please wear the correct clothing.  Go to Bowness it is more "tourist" orientated.  But just enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Beautiful scenery especially in the autumn when the leaves are turning. Can get busy in October due to the school hols so book well in advance if you want a holiday cottage.



Lots to do, small villages to visit, boat rides on the lakes, Beatrix Potters house, Wordsworths House, lots of outdoor activities, camp sites.  Great place to go if you like to take photos.  Don't forget to pop into Cartmel to the village shop to get your sticky toffee pudding! Yummmmm :o)

Been there myself loads of times on holidays and I recommend it!

It can be beautiful. However it's totally packed with tourists in summer which ruins it.

Nice scenery, but it is boring. Unless you just like scenery

Several lakes, several mountains. Nice. Boring for teenagers.
