lol this sounds like something for school....conflict: be that they go into a different land, magical and are expected to save the inhabitants.  and their brother goes on the wrong path, and they have to save him as well they decide to save the land because that way they can save their brother, whom they love despite what he did .  there is also the white witch whom is trying to capture them.  It is solved: they go looking for Aslan the one who can save their brother, and with the help of the beavers. They find out that they have to fight in a war, they do and win aganst the evill white witch. The main charaters learned ho much they love their sibling and the oldest peter learne d he was brave and he could protect the family, Susan learned that she really likes her younger sister. Edmund learns to love his family and the youngest one lucy learns that she is capable of stuff and that she shouldnt be underestimated. the theme is adventure, your welcome :) This took long to answer so i better get something in return ;) jokes

It isn't that long its a wonderful book read it and enjoy it.

Your main storyline is about 4 children that are sent to the country to get away from the bombings by Germany warplanes in WW2. (this event actual happened during the war) they were taken in by an old professor and his housekeeper makes the children stay out of the way when there are visitors to the home.  Eventually one of the them finds a wardrobe that sends her to another country, when she returns she finds no time has passed at all and the other children don't believe her.

There are many adventures and you can read it on different levels I never tire of the books in the series, there are 7 of them, this one is the first.(not chronology but first published)
