The Los Angeles Lakers’ head Coach Phil Jackson is concerned over the team's recent losing streak
The Los Angeles Lakers’ head Coach, Phil Jackson, is showing much concern over the recent losing streak by his team. The Lakers have lost five straight games now. The recent humiliation came on Sunday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Oklahoma City defeated the Los Angeles Lakers by 120-106.
Jackson looked very frustrated when he spoke out to the media, “Oh yeah, we're very concerned. We really are, I'm concerned very much so. You can't turn the switch on and off like that in basketball without having to pay some kind of price. Your game just doesn't come back all of the sudden.”
Since 3 April, The Lakers have been defeated from the Denver Nuggets, the Utah Jazz, the Golden State Warriors, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the Lakers were virtually remarkable after the All-Star break. They were displaying a magical run of victories. The Lakers won their 17 matches out of 18 that they have played since the All-Star break. However, this sudden debacle is showing the lack of commitment in their spirit.
The Lakers are currently at second position tying with the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference. This recent losing streak will certainly cost the Lakers in a big way and mainly if they lose the number two spot in their Conference they will also lose the home-court advantage in the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics. The Celtics and the Boston have the similar record in the Eastern Conference.
The Los Angeles Lakers are considered to be one of the best-side in the NBA and their success comes hand in hand. Without Phil, they would never reach this peak. Now is the perfect time for the Lakers especially for the main players to combined themselves and overturn these concerns of their head coach and prove him once again as they are the real Champions.
Phil Jackson is a charismatic head Coach of the Lakers. Though Jackson has decided to leave the game after this season but his legacy would always follow the Los Angeles Lakers in years to come.
