The Lyoness Open: Oliver Wilson finishes tied at 15
The Lyoness Open 2012 finally comes to an end. The best in the world of golf went head to head to fight for glory. The venue for this prestigious event was the Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrugg, Austria. The event started on the 25th of July
and ended on the 28th of July.
Players gave their best performance in the tournament. In the end, there could be only one champion. This year the champion was the home crowd favourite Bernd Wiesberger.
Oliver Wilson is a player who had decent rounds and played good golf. He was one of the players who were able to impress the spectators. The first three days were exceptionally good for the English player. He was not able to take the same performance to
the last day.
Wilson had a slow start to the first round. He had only pars on the front nine. He got a bit aggressive on the back nine and managed to card four birdies. These made his score four-under par after the first day.
The second day was not so special for the Englishman. He managed to score five birdies but he also scored three bogeys. These made his score two-under par for the day.
The third day was quite similar to the first one as he again had a four-under par score. He had only a single bogey on the day and five birdies. These made his total score ten-under par.
Till this point, Wilson was going quite well. He had a solid start and just required a good end. To his discontent, he was not able to do so. The last day was quite unlucky for the 31-year-old.
On the front nine, he had only one birdie and three bogeys. On the back nine, he had only two birdies and two bogeys. These made his score two-over par for the day and his total score became eight-under par.
Wilson finished the tournament tied on the fifteenth position with two other players, David Drysdale and Alastair Forsyth. He was eleven strokes behind the leader of the tournament, Bernd Wiesberger. Wiesberger had a magnificent nineteen-under par after
the four days.
