The MSHSAA Class 1 State Golf Championship awards the Villa's top place 
The MSHSAA Class 1 State Golf Championship ended on a high note on Tuesday with Villa Duchesne claiming the cup after scoring a 689. The Rivercut Golf Course placed the Kirksville line-up at the sixth place while Southern Boone’s Payton
Schooler stood at the fourth place.
The winner of the tournament Villa Duchesne played the first round of the event much better than the second round of 350. The team scored a 339 in the first round and thus scored a 689 to grab the win.
Behind the leading team, the team MICDS collected a total score of 704. The runner up team played a rather good game by collecting a 350 in the first round and a 354 in the second.
The team Westminister Christian Academy came in third place and scored a 723. Upon dissection of the earlier stated score, the team collected a 353 at the first round and a 370 in the last which was higher than the fourth place team, Savannah.
The fourth place team played a total score of 734 which was achieved after collecting a score of 364 and 370.
Team Villa Duchesne also known as the Saints was led by Coach Linda Potter. Potter said that the team have been striving for this win for a long time thus the victory earned is a job well done. The coach who has also led the Saints in
1999 said that the team knew what they were doing with their shots. Potter congratulated the team and said that the team got a good chance to show off what they had.
The Saints had its most consistent player, Christina Russon shinning on the leader boards. The number three female golfer played an unfailing game at the all-event and collected a total score of 164. Russon carded an 81 and an 83 to grab
fifth place and collected one birdie. The female golfer played an eighty foot putt on the 18th hole of the Rivercut Course which is marked as the classiest birdie of the event. 
With Russon coming 5th, Caroline Leeker grabbed the eighth place with a 169 while Lauren Hopson attained a tie at the 19th place after carding a 178.
Team Kirksville, also known as the Lady Tigers, played the two rounds of the tournament after carding scores of 375 in the first round of the match and then a fairly low score 373 in the last. The Kirksville squad achieved sixth place
at the State Golf Championship and was led by the top golfer Chelsea Clark who collected a total score of 177. The female golfer thus carded scores of 88 and 89 that placed her on the 16th position.
