  1. The Mars Volta are excellent. Speaking musically, there music is insanely technical and highly complex, yet they make it sound so simple and good.

I really find them quite easy to listen to. They have some good softer songs, if you're into that, such as Eriatarka, Drunkship of Lanterns, Asilos Magdalena, Vermicide, and The Widow. Also, they have some amazing songs for when you're exercising or you just need to get pumped, like Wax Simulacra, Viscera Eyes, Tetragrammaton, Goliath, Inertiatic ESP, Roulette Dares (The Haunt of), L'Via L'Viaquez, Cassandra Gemini, and especially Day of the Baphomets. Also, they have anytime songs

  2. you know, I liked the Mars Volta until I saw them live, and I guess if you love them it would have been a good experience, but live they were just too over the top. they opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers, which was an awesome show

  3. They're..okay. not my kind of music though. my best friend likes them a lot though.

  4. I have to admit I don't know them much. I've only heard about six of their songs.

I really like what I've heard, though. Their sound is very unique, the lyrics profound, and the vocals are unlike any other rock singer I've heard.

    I worship Tool.

  5. i like em, they were pretty epic live

my favorite song is: roulette dares (this is the haunt)

  6. My favorite ex-prog band:  Frank Zappa, King Crimson, and Jethro Tull.   (yes JT is, they rock that flute man)

I used to be fans of MV however, their third album was bit too much, it made no sense it was like they all solo'd and failed miserably at it.

  7. i love the mars volta tbh.

  8. To be honest with you, I love bedlam in goliath.  I think it's the best album, after deloused of course. But not enough people appreciate the musicianship of this band.  Right now my favorite track by them is "tourniquet man".  Just the outro where everything gets real heavy with the vocoder vocals, sends chills down my spine, the combination of that and the beautiful melody at the beginning make this song one of mars volta's best in my opinion.
