  1. Here we go again. Most definately guilty and how on earth have they retained custody of their other children?( They were put in danger as well. But that seems to be forgotten.

  2. Ok... As sad as i feel about what has happened to them and their family (especially poor Madeilline) The facts do speak for themselves.

She would never have been taken if she would have been being watched over. Period.

However i do not deem them "guilty", i believe all of us humans make mistakes, some bigger than others, and in their instance they will live with this for the rest of their lives.

I hope Madeilline is found safely although this seems very unlikely after such a great length of time. Or I at least hope she's in a better place now .

I don't believe any of us should judge them ~x~

  3. I believe that someone else took Madeleine McCann and it is that person who is responsible for her disappearance.

To talk about "everything in their power" is using emotive language.  As is the use of the word "neglect".

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - look at the statistics - there is no reason one earth why anyone would ever suspect that such a dreadful thing as the abduction of their daughter, from her own bed, would ever happen to them.

If we were all so full of fear of the unknown, we'd never strap our children into their car seats in our vehicles and drive off with them.  Children are far more likely to die in a car accident than be abducted.

The parents checked up on their sleeping children regularly, they weren't far away, they thought their children were safe and it was an accepted method of practise.

So no, I don't think they were guilty of neglect.  Stupidity, yes, but neglect, no.

  4. My head says

YAWNNNNNNN @ McCann repeat question number 6789002

  5. What are you Judge and Jury  ???

  6. We all know that it was wrong to leave them alone,BUT many parents have left children in a hotel room (including myself) whilst having a meal or a drink at the bar. Also years ago when my children were young, along with thousands of other families in the 60s - we went to holiday camps and it was the normal thing to have a patrol system (camp officials patrolling the chalets and listening out for crying children).

So lets all be gratefull, that there for the grace of God, we all went home with our precious children.

And one thing that the McCanns can be gratefull for is that  other parents will think twice hopefully before they take a chance like they did.

  7. They did not do everything in their power to keep the children safe. They were too young to be left alone, regardless of being checked on at either 60min or 30min intervals. Its just not good enough.

  8. I totally agree with Patrica bstarstruck.  and would add if they or their friends knew that there was a predator in the area they would all taken more care and taken the babies with them . Its so easy to be wise after the event.

  9. Guilty of stupidity yes but of anything else would be difficult to prove.

  10. Guilty

If they had not failed her by leaving her alone in a strange apartment in a strange country to go drinking with their "friends" she would not be missing and probably dead and we would never have heard or the poor girl.

They act like victims when in fact they, by leaving her and their other children alone and in danger, are the cause of this whole sad case.

  11. Guilty. The facts are they left their children alone in an unlocked apartment. To keep a child safe you must provide 24/7 care from a responsible person. You only have to turn your back on a child for a minute to know they are a danger to themselves. The facts about what they did and didn't do are all in the police report, which makes for shocking reading and due to the many inconsistencies the Police have stated it was impossible for an abduction to have taken place.

  12. guilty of neglect..and anyone who says differently needs to take a good look at their parenting skills x

they went out every night in a strange country..leaving 3 very young and vunerable children in a strange unlocked apartment...maddie had already woke up crying for them..yet they still went out leaving all 3 again in an unlocked apartment to enjoy a night out..supposedly making regular checks(?) on the children..although the times of those vary..does this sound like responsible parenting to you...

  13. Of neglect, yes.

    Stupidity, yes,

    But murder.......

    Not proven.

  14. I feel for the kids they have, but for the parents, i can't believe they did some thing like that.

Who in the right mind would even think of leaving their kids in a hotel room.

  15. Please can we stop with the McCann questions-there getting boring!

  16. em, Michael, did Gerry not say that he thought the abductor was in the room when he went to "check up" on them???????

If you think your children are in even so much as the slightest bit of danger, would you not do everything in your power to make sure they are safe?

that includes not running back off to the tapas bar to drink more vino while you think there may or may not be an ABDUCTOR in the same room as your sleeping children!

argh, guilty guilty guilty of child neglect!!!
