The McLarens Expected To Bash Each Other At Silverstone
The McLaren’s stars are shinning bright. One after the other race the team had been able to keep rising up the graph continuously. It was at the Turkish Grand Prix that the McLarens were able to snatch the lead of the Constructors’ Championship form the Red Bull and since then they have been able to clutch is tight.
Well it was considered by many that the McLaren owed their one-two finish at the Istanbul Circuit, in the Turkish Grand Prix to the Red Bulls, who handed them the victory after their drastic crash. Later in the Canadian Grand Prix, the McLarens proved the speculations were wrong as they were once again able to claim the podium repeating their previous result, Lewis Hamilton finished at the first place whereas teammate Jenson Button finished at second. Now at the Valencia Circuit in Spain, it was the third time consecutively, that the team had the same ending. However, this time Hamilton finished at second place whereas his teammate at the third. With these results the twosome are expected to give a very tough competition to each other in the upcoming race of the season at the Silverstone Circuit in the British Grand Prix.
At present, as nine races of the season have already been unfolded, completing almost half of the season, Lewis Hamilton stands at the top of the tally with a total of one hundred and twenty seven points whereas Button follows his tail with one hundred and twenty one points, with a narrow difference of only six points.
With these statistics the toughest head to head war is expected to be witnessed among the teammates next week. Also one cannot ignore the fact that the next race is to take place at the home place of the current chart leader, Hamilton. He would have the benefit of home ground as there would be hundreds and thousands of people supporting him but at the same time this increases the psychological pressure. However, the other factor to heighten his confidence is his previous victory at the track in the year 2008. It was the same year that led him to win the World Championship, marking him the youngest man to claim the title, at the age of twenty three only. In a pre-race interview Hamilton told that he wishes all the best to his teammate but winning the upcoming race is very crucial for him. He said that he would want to see the same one two finish once again but would put his best to grab the victory.
However, one cannot forget that Button is also in a great form this year. Previously he had been able to claim victory twice this year, initially in Australia, at the start of the season and later in China. Also, he had been able to finish at second place a number of times this season. Moreover, at this stage of the race he is shy of only six points from his teammate and he would never want to let the difference increase.
Moreover, the team has also announced about some great technical advancements in their chassis for the upcoming race which would give more confidence and to both the drivers. Therefore one can expect a great racing spectacle from the team at the British grand Prix next week.
Well, whosoever wins the McLaren fans are going to be happy as long as the team stands at the top and that keep cementing their position even further. Nonetheless Red Bull and Ferrari are expected to give a tough competition as well. So, a great racing weekend is to unfold as the Formula One caravan heads toward its one of the oldest tracks.
